About
Invoice finance, said plainly
Small suppliers to large companies wait 60 to 90 days to be paid for work they have already done. That is not a credit problem. It is a timing problem, and it should not be as hard or as opaque to fix as it is.
What is actually wrong with this market
When we looked at twenty players in Indian invoice finance, the thing that stood out was not the rates. It was that almost nobody publishes them. Several major platforms disclose no pricing at all until you are already in a conversation, and at least one is documented as not disclosing fees until the invoice matures.
The result is that an MSME owner cannot answer the only question they have - what will I actually get in hand? - without giving someone their phone number first.
The three things we decided to do differently
- Publish the calculator, with no login. Your invoice amount and your due date, and you get the money you would receive, the total cost, and the APR on one screen. No sign-up, no phone number, no sales call. It is here, and it is the same engine that produces every real quote inside the product.
- Publish the fees, with dates. Every number on our pricing page carries where it came from and when we last checked it. Where a number is our own judgement rather than a benchmark, we say that too.
- Say when another route is open to you. If your buyer is registered on a TReDS exchange, financing the invoice there is an option and we explain how it works. What it costs there is set by auction, so we do not claim to know whether it beats us - only that you should know it exists.
What we are not
We are not a lender, and we are not a regulated financial institution. BZi Growth is a technology and origination platform - a Lending Service Provider to banks and NBFCs. We hold no RBI licence or registration, because an LSP does not need one: the lender holds the licence and carries the regulatory obligation. We are also not a participant in TReDS and hold no exchange membership.
What that does not mean is that no rules apply. The RBI Digital Lending Directions bind the arrangement through our partner, and they are why funds move directly between the lender and you, with our fee invoiced separately rather than taken out of a flow we control. We designed the settlement structure around that rule rather than around what would have been easier to build.
Our entire revenue is the processing fee. We take no share of the interest, which means we have no reason to steer you towards a more expensive quote - and it is why we can afford to write the paragraph above about TReDS.
What we will not do
Hide the total cost. Bury the recourse terms. Quote a monthly rate without an APR beside it. Charge your buyer. Sell your data. Ask for your phone number before showing you a number.
If you catch us doing any of these, that is a bug and we would like to hear about it - the grievance officer is a real route, not a formality.
